Andreas Kleber Since June 2018 I am working as DevOps Engineer in the global DevOps Infrastructure Team at ESI Group. The main goal of our team is improving engineering efficency. My work focuses on automation and developing and maintaining the complete infrastructure stack and custom services for all development teams.

For 10 years before that I worked as Software Engineer at ESI Group with the focus on developing the immersive user interface of the Virtual Reality solution IC.IDO.

Experiences at a glance

I have experience in using and administrating the following tools, languages and services (in years).

Accomplishments

The following lists some of my main accomplishements in the last 10 years (latest first) where I did the majority of the work in these projects. Often times I had experience with these systems before and do maintenance after the introduction or migration.

Education

In 2006 I finished my Diplom-Informatiker degree, studying at the Institute for Computational Visualistics at the University of Koblenz-Landau.

References

Here are some of my work results from my university time. They are a bit dated and technologically not really relevant anymore today, but I am nevertheless still proud of them.

Paper

2007: Filtering Video Volumes using the Graphics Hardware

The results of my Diploma Thesis were presented as "Filtering Video Volumes using the Graphics Hardware" by Matthias Biedermann and myself during a poster session at the "15th Scandinavian Conference on Image Analysis" (SCIA) in Aalborg, Denmark and in its proceedings.

DA

2006: Diploma Thesis

In my Diploma Thesis "Erstellung eines Frameworks zur Filterung von Volumendaten auf der GPU am Beispiel von Videosequenzen" I investigated if modern GPUs (at the time) can be used to improve the speed of image processing algorithms on video sequences compared to CPUs.

Touch-o-Mat

2006: Touch-o-Mat

The Touch-o-Mat combined hard- and software into an innovative interaction metaphor for computers. Instead of using mouse and keyboard at a desktop, users stand around a table and are able to work intuitivly on the desktop with multiple fingers at once.
The Touch-o-Mat was built by Rodja Trappe and myself and won the audience award of the CV-Tag 2006.

Omas Dachboden

2004: Grandma's attic

This computer-animated short film, a sequel to Pixars Academy Award nominated short film "Luxo Jr.", was created during the summer semester break 2004 by a team of 14 students.
It won the "ANIMATION PRIZE OF THE PUBLIC" at Eurographics 2005 Conference in Dublin.
I created several of the digital 3D assets, did the final cut and produced a making-of documentary and the DVD.

Marionette

2004: Virtual Marionette

The goal of this University project internship was to simulate realistic movement following a tracked (6DOF) physical input device with a beautiful rendering on a stereo projection system.
My tasks as lead of the integrated system was the development of the base system architecture and coordination with the physics and design leads.
The result was shown as "Lab-Presentation" at the IEEE VR 2005 Conference in Bonn.
